Team 1: Genetics and Development of Brain Tumours

Institut du Cerveau et de la Moelle Epinière (ICM)

Pr Marc Sanson & Pr Emmanuelle Huillard

The objectives of the team are to identify new genetic mutations and biomarkers of brain tumours, as well as to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in their development. The 4 main objectives are:
  • To improve diagnosis and treatment by developing a molecular database.
  • To characterize the function of new mutations identified in gliomas using an analysis pipeline developed by the team.
  • To identify the intrinsic and micro-environment-related cellular mechanisms at the origin of tumour development and progression.
  • Develop new mouse and human models for the validation of new treatments
