{"id":1561,"date":"2019-07-31T12:29:39","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T10:29:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/curamus-cancer.fr\/les-programmes-de-recherche\/"},"modified":"2020-05-10T14:11:59","modified_gmt":"2020-05-10T12:11:59","slug":"research-programs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/curamus-cancer.fr\/en\/research-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"Research programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The integrated research project of SiRIC CURAMUS is structured around three programmes, supported in a transversal way by the Medical Humanities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/curamus-cancer.fr\/en\/le-programme-1-neuro-oncologie\/\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Neuro-oncology:<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Brain cancers are the 1st cause of cancer mortality before the age of 35. Due to their rarity, their great heterogeneity and their frequent resistance to conventional treatments, they remain poorly understood. This program focuses on gliomas, which require a better understanding of the mechanisms of tumor initiation and progression in order to develop innovative therapies. The main objectives are to :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Better understand functional genomics and the role of the tumor microenvironment.<\/li>\n<li>Improve diagnosis through innovative and\/or non-invasive approaches.<\/li>\n<li>Develop personalized therapies and improve the quality of life of patients.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/curamus-cancer.fr\/en\/program-2-rare-immuno-hematological-cancers\/\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"><strong>Rare immuno-hematological cancers:<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Rare immuno-hematological cancers include paediatric leukaemia, rare lymphoid haemopathies, and cancers of immunosuppressed individuals (HIV transplant recipients or carriers) that are insufficiently studied and excluded from clinical research protocols. The main objectives of this program are to :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To characterize at the genomic and immunogenomic level these rare tumors and to explore the interactions of the host and tumor microenvironment.<\/li>\n<li>To develop innovative diagnostic tools predictive of evolution.<\/li>\n<li>To set up innovative therapies and procedures for monitoring long-term effects in rare tumours in adults and children.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/curamus-cancer.fr\/en\/le-programme-3-cancers-avec-instabilite-des-microsatellites-msi\/\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Cancers with microsatellite instability:<\/strong><\/span><\/a> MSI cancers affect many organs at any age but are under-diagnosed. They account for 15-20% of colon, stomach and uterine cancers. This program covers a wide range of hereditary or sporadic cancers that share a common biological mechanism, leading to a significant need for personalized medicine.
